Locus check-ins by text: terms

How texting with Locus works, how to sign up, and how to stop. Last updated November 2, 2026.

The program

  • Program name: Locus check-ins.
  • Who sends it: Locus, operated by LastLap Lab LLC, 928 Lovell Ave NW, Bainbridge Island, WA 98110, United States.
  • What we send: your daily check-ins from your coach, reminders you set up, and replies to messages you send us. Every message starts with "Locus:". No marketing, and no messages on behalf of anyone else.
  • How often: message frequency varies, up to 3 messages a day.
  • Cost: Locus doesn't charge for texts. Msg & data rates may apply from your mobile carrier.
  • Our number: +1 (804) 293-6358.

How you sign up

Texting is optional. While setting up Locus, or any time later on your Locus page, you can enter your mobile number and check a box that starts unchecked. Locus works fully without it. Next to the box we show:

Text me my Locus check-ins and reminders. By checking this box you agree to receive recurring text messages from Locus at this number. Msg frequency varies (up to 3/day). Msg & data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help, STOP to opt out. Consent is not a condition of using Locus. See our SMS Terms and Privacy Policy.

You can also text START to +1 (804) 293-6358. Either way, the first message we send is this confirmation:

Help and stopping

  • Help: reply HELP to any message, or email hello@locuscoach.com.
  • Stop: reply STOP to any message. We'll send one message confirming you're unsubscribed, then nothing more. You can also uncheck the box on your Locus page.
  • Rejoin: reply START, or check the box again on your Locus page.

The small print

  • Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
  • Texts are for US mobile numbers.
  • We do not share or sell mobile numbers or text-message opt-in data with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
